TIVERTON, R.I. – November 8, 2006 – The joys of the 2006 Holiday Season will be celebrated in style at Tiverton 4 Corners, Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. A Friday evening concert at 8:00 p.m. kicks off the celebrations and will continue Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The festivities include a district-wide Open House with sales, refreshments, ornament making, gift basket drawings, gourmet food tastings and a concert by soprano Kate Grana, and caroling by the cast of Little Compton’s Community Theatre’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, culminating with an olde fashioned tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

The charming district will be wrapped in distinctive holiday finery created by award -winning floral and garden designers, Roanne Robbins and Richard Magnuson.

Stroll and shop at your leisure through the picturesque stores and galleries, while enjoying a quaint New England holiday experience unique to this unspoiled area. Ample free parking is available.

Friday, December 1, 8:00 p.m.
Arts Center Holiday Concert - a performance by soprano Kate Grana, accompanied by pianist Christina Breindel. The program will feature traditional seasonal favorites as well as classical pieces including arias, German lieder, Italian art songs and contemporary American music. Tickets are $ 15.00. Cast of ‘Ebenezer’ Carolers -11:30 a.m-12:00 p.m. (Dressed in period costume) at Courtyards

Tree Lighting Ceremony - 5:30 p.m.
The gift basket drawings will occur at the Tree Lighting ceremony - fill out drawing tickets at various stores.

• Amy’s Armoire - giving a “Magic Scarf” with a minimum purchase of $50.00 while quantities last. Valid one per person.

• Amy C. Lund, Handweaver & Handspinner – serving refreshments, and demonstrating weaving and spinning techniques.

• Abigail’s and Magnolia’s - 20% off all merchandise storewide.

• The Cottage - 20% off all merchandise storewide.

• Courtyards – providing food samples and beverages. Cast of ‘Ebenezer’ carolers 11:30 a.m-12:00 p.m. Also kicking off December Festive Fridays – 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m., serving wine and cheese.

• Crane Brook Antiques - 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. children are welcome to design and hand-paint two ornaments per child for the tree lighting ceremony. Materials are free. Children may take their ornament to the tree at 5:00 p.m. in anticipation of the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
       Warm cider will be served from 1:00 p.m. –5:00 p.m.

• The Contessa and Company – hosting a children’s event table, and will serve cookies and beverages.

• Gallery 4 – 12 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., providing a wine tasting by Sakonnet Vineyards. The gallery will feature wire and glass sculpture and jewelry by Susan Freda.

• Milk and Honey Bazaar – offering samples of more than 100 different local and imported cheeses, surrounded by Colonial Williamsburg style decorations in a traditional reproduction barn storefront.

• Nature Contained – 10:00 am - 5:00pm., serving warm refreshments and organic treats, among a winter garden, and seasonal garlands & wreaths and other natural holiday gifts and adornments.
       The designers decorated 2006 Tiverton 4 Corners Historic District for the holidays and Open House.

• Provender - serving fresh baked goods and cocoa.

• Roseberry-Winn Pottery - sharing treats from old family recipes, along with hot mulled cider. There will be a “make your own ornament” table for kids of all ages. All materials will be provided free of charge.
       Receive a free original Roseberry-Winn clay ornament with any purchase of $50.00 or more. All purchases can be gift boxed and finished with holiday ribbons free of charge.
       A special showing of local artist Alyn Carlson’s pastel paintings will be featured.

• Sakonnet Sundries – children are invited to make their own ornaments, while nibbling cookies and sipping cocoa. Complimentary gift-wrapping with in-store purchases.

• Four Corners Arts Center Artist's Co-op - various local artists will be displaying and selling their work at Open House and throughout the month. Location: Soule Seabury House.

• The Toy Mill – will kick off month long toy raffle to be drawn Christmas Eve: “Princess Groovy Girl" or "Giant Lego Set."
