Four Corners Arts Center invites you to the historic village of Tiverton Four Corners on March 30th 4:00-6:00 PM to celebrate the coming of spring and the daffodil bloom in the tradition of New England’s earliest settlers. Dancers, please join us for an early evening Contra Dance at The Meeting House at 3850 Main Road, Tiverton Four Corners.

The venue is located within the Four Corners Sculpture Park, behind the Four Corners Gallery. Parking can be accessed from Main Rd. and from East Road beside Gray’s Ice Cream. The Caller for the evening will be Don Heinold and The Westside Warblers will be playing toe tapping rhythms. No experience necessary!
Cost: $15 per dancer (family discounts available)

Visit Four Corners Gallery to enjoy the poetry of Celia Meade, an MFA graduate (writing) of Sarah Lawrence College, and an MFA graduate (painting) of the University of Calgary who comes to us from Canada by way of New York. Join us at the gallery on Saturday, March 30th from 3:30-4:30.

Sarah was runner up for the Raven Chapbook award (2022) and is widely published in literary magazines. D. Nurkse, author of A Country of Strangers, says “Empathetic, seeking truths as volatile as our lives, and deeply realized, Anatomy of the World is a book that will last.” Diana Hayes, author of Sapphire and the Hollow Bone, says “These are bold, muscular poems that do not shy away from the inner and underworlds of humanity.” During this reading, attendees will have the opportunity to try their hand at poetry prompted from a piece of art in the gallery. Bring your listening ears and open hearts.  Presented by local poets, Sarah Bartlett, Barbara Schweitzer, Dave Heckman, Dan George, with music accompaniment by Cathy Clasper Torch and visual art by Alyn Carlson.

Four Corners Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition featuring a unique collaborative artwork crafted by 16 young artists from grades 3-8, Saint Philomena School, Portsmouth, RI. Using recycled plastic as their medium and inspired by the urgent theme of "Save the Ocean," these budding environmentalists have poured their creativity into a stunning work of art.

Join us as we unveil their incredible creation at a Reception on March 22, 4:00-5:30 pm and celebrate the power of imagination and the importance of environmental stewardship. From vibrant sea creatures to majestic coral reefs, every detail tells a story of hope and resilience in the face of ecological challenges.
Don't miss your chance to witness the talent and passion of these young creatives, as they shine a spotlight on the importance of protecting our precious oceans.

Join Four Corners Gallery for An Hour with Eleanor, written and performed by Cynthis Krause on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 4:00. Eleanor made its local debut at the Marion Art Center where it was the winner of their competition for best new play.

Nature Speaks with Us Everywhere: An afternoon of baroque music with Heidi Dion, Brian Barting & Mike Shand

Heidi Dion, soprano, Brian Bartling, lute, and Mike Shand, Baroque flute present a varied program of Baroque music including sonatas of Weiss and Handel and several of Handel’s German arias.

Soprano Heidi Dion is a native of Somerset, MA. She holds a BA degree in visual design and illustration from U Mass Dartmouth. She has studied with Karyl Ryczek and Bonnie Pomfret. Heidi has been a member of Sine Nomine choir since its founding and has been the featured soprano soloist a number of times. She currently serves as music director of Saint Louis DeFrance parish in Swansea and is a professional breeder of English Cocker Spaniels.

Brian Bartling is a lutenist and guitarist based in Providence. Initially drawn to music through the string bass and the guitar, Brian later gravitated to the sonic possibilities of historical plucked instruments. He initially studied the classical guitar with Douglas Niedt, went on to study the Renaissance and Baroque lute with Doug Freundlich, and received further instruction on the lute from Nigel North and Anton Birula. In addition, Brian holds a graduate degree in Music Theory from the New England Conservatory of Music. Brian performs regularly with ensembles and as a soloist, with a special concentration on the extant literature for the Baroque lute.

Mike Shand has studied traverso (Baroque flute) with Linda Marianiello, Anne Briggs, Sandy Miller, Wendy Rolfe, and Janet See. He has performed solo and in ensembles in northern New Jersey, Newport, New Bedford and Boston. Several years ago, he founded the Treaty Rock Consort and, in 2010, the Greybeards. Mike has performed on the Loring-Greenough House concert series in Boston with Judith Conrad, in Buzzards Bay with the Delight Consort, and with the Greater Tiverton Community Chorus.

10th Annual re-Tree Art Contest & Community Exhibition:
An outdoor display of festive trees created with re-cycled or repurposed materials.

10th Annual “re Tree” – A Showcase of Trees Created with Recycled Materials to be held on December 1st – December 15th. The showcase of re-Trees will be displayed on Main Road on the grounds of Tiverton Four Corners Soule Seabury House and will open on Bright Night, Friday, December 1, 2023 in Tiverton Four Corners. Best of Show will be judged and awarded a cash prize of $150.00 on Bright Night. The Popular vote will determine a winning re-Tree on December 15th so come vote for your favorite! The popular vote winner will receive a prize package of items donated by Four Corners businesses as well as a Kids & Family category winner with a prize provided by our sponsor, West Place Animal Sanctuary. • Basic requirements for trees are:
  

  • must be composed of 90% recycled, reclaimed or repurposed materials

  • must be lit using solar or LED  (electrical outlets are available)

  • must be outdoor friendly and secure when standing.

  • trees should be no smaller than 5 feet and no taller than 9 feet.

  • must be installed by Bright Night, December 1st for the initial judging and must be maintained until December 15th to be considered for the popular vote.
